Saturday Club AGM 17th February 2018 – Meeting Minutes

Chairman's Report:

Reflection on outings, fundraising and donations over the past year.

Outings: Groombridge place, Harry Potter World and Pantomime enjoyed by all.

Fundraising: Quiz Night, Car park collection, Charity curry night and Katie Hunter’s abseil.

Donations: Co-Op community fund, Rotary Charity fund, Billericay round table donated a new pool table as well as the additional soft outdoor flooring to ease removal from the container, Qinetiq and parent donations.


Thank you to all the helpers, members and supporters of the club for enabling the Saturday club to continue running.

Thank you to Ellen Player who is no longer able to help due to health problems and Esther Makings who is also no longer able to help due to family commitments.

Current Chairman, Gary Rowland, will be standing down.

Treasury Report:

Ongoing problem with the club’s Santander account. Due to Ellen Player no longer being able to be a signatory for the account, and the difficulties experienced with Santander, the club are looking to close the account and move the funds to a Lloyds account. All attendees in agreement.

Once the Santander account has been closed, the club will also be looking to cash in the Santander shares held by Basildon Toy Library and Saturday Club and transfer the money to the Lloyds account. All attendees in agreement.

Fund Raising/Outings:

10th March – Quiz night

9th June - Port Lympne Wildlife Park (200 off from coach company due to late arrival for Harry Potter trip)

1st September – To be confirmed

20th September – Maharaja fundraising meal

15th December – Pantomime (Sue to book tickets as soon as they are available)

Outing price to increase from 5 to 10 – All attendees in agreement.

2019 Outings: TBC

Parent / Carer Feedback: N/A

Members thoughts and ideas:

Arts & crafts enjoyed as well as bingo

Cooking, film night, guitars & drums, dancing, bowling at club, magazines, karaoke

Table tennis to be used more often

Pool tournament

Air hockey

New CD required as current one temperamental


Still having new members join. Currently have 33 on the books.

More volunteers required
