Chairman's Report:Gary ran through the Chairman’s Report that all attendees were given a copy of.

Gary thanked parents and carers for their support.

New appointment.  Katie Hunter will be our new Members Representative.  This role has been created for Katie to act as a ‘go-between’ for members and volunteers with any new suggestions or concerns.

Treasury Report:Audited and correct.  As you will see from the report, what comes in goes out i.e. our total income for the 2016/2017 financial year was 10,390.01 GBP and the expenditure was 10.400.06 GBP.

Fund Raising: 2016 was a successful year for donations.  Thanks to everyone who donated.  We also raised 507 GBP at the Quiz Night and 832 GBP at our Charity meal.

The Laindon Co-op have promised 1,000 GBP towards a day trip this year.

Quiz Night – 4th March 2017

Our biggest event is the Quiz Night next week, Saturday 4th March.  We have more tickets to sell so please let Sue know if anyone else is interested.

Our Quiz Master, Barry, is retiring this year so Saturday’s quiz will be his last for the Club.  We will therefore be looking for a new Quiz Master; please make Sue aware if you know of anyone that would be suitable.

Katie’s Abseil – 30th April 2017

Katie Hunter will be abseiling in Harlow on 30th April to raise money for the Club.  All sponsors welcome.  Katie’s dad’s Rotary Club will be matching any monies raised.  Thank you Katie and good luck!

Charity Car Park – 8th April 2017

Booked and most slots allocated.  Any additional volunteers welcome.

Charity Meal in September 2017

Possibly look at a new venue?  Some people complained that at our meal last year at the Maharaja in Benfleet there was little food left at the end of the evening and the drinks were very expensive.  Any new suggestions welcome.

2017 Outings: Saturday 10th June

We have a coach booked for the day but still need to decide where to go.  Suggestions include –

Hearne Bay for fish and chips and then a visit to Whitstable for an ice cream by the sea.

London show.  After some discussion it was decided that this would probably be too expensive and difficult to block book for 40+ people.

London boat trip followed by an event such as Madam Tussauds.  It was decided that a trip to London would be too difficult to manage on trains etc due to numbers.

Harry Potter World.

Groombridge Place, Tunbridge Wells.

Fun Day - 2nd September 2017

Theme:  Emergency Services Day.

Christmas Party & Pantomime – Saturday 16th December 2017

Aladdin booked.  Two block rows.

Parent / Carer Feedback: It was agreed by all that members still enjoy coming to club and it is a great opportunity to meet up weekly with friends they have made over the years.

Esther gave special thanks to Claire, especially now that she drives all the way from Frinton each week.

Sandra Hill thanked all the volunteers for their support.

Dates Closed: All dates are available on the website - http://www.basildonsaturdayclub.org.uk/diary.shtml.

AOB:A huge “well done” to Kevin on winning the Long Service Award and Volunteer of the Year Award at the Basildon Council Volunteer Awards.
